Here at The House of Shutters, we have just recently become members of Made in Britain organisation. Made in Britain is a rapidly growing community of the best British manufacturers promoting products and services that have been manufactured or have undergone a final change in Britain before the sale.
The idea of being a member of the Made in Britain organisation is to:
help potential clients and consumers to identify services and products made here, in Britain
bring together the British manufacturing community
provide support for the members in the following areas: sales, marketing, exports and comms/PR
History
Made in Britain organisation was originally established by Stoves - a Prescot based cooker manufacturer. Stoves decided to conduct independent market research to discover the public’s opinion on British manufacturing. His results have proven that supporting UK manufacturing and securing jobs in Britain was the main driven factor to buy British. Stoves has found the research very useful and launched a competition to design a logo for the newly established campaign. In July 2011 first businesses were invited to start using the logo. Then in December 2013 Made in Britain was officially launched as an independent, non-profit organisation. One Collective Mark for British Manufacturers
The official Made in Britain collective mark is registered and protected with the Intellectual Property Office across over 30 product classes, including floor coverings, machines, metals, chemicals, window coverings etc. More information regarding product classes can be found here.
Being a successful applicant means that we strictly adhere to the code of conduct. Our plantation shutters are made at our factory premises here in Bosham, West Sussex, and we are really proud of it. It is an honour to us to be able to fly the British flag on our website and across our marketing resources and social media.
We have over 20 years of industry-leading expertise, combined with 17 years dedicated to the design and manufacture of beautiful hardwood plantation shutters. We work according to strict procedures to make sure our high standards are maintained every time we embark on a project.
